Hwy. 199 Crash Kills One

Friday morning just before 7:30am, Rural Metro Fire, American Medical Response-Josephine County and Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to a head-on crash on Redwood Hwy. 199.

Rescue crews arrived to find both drivers seriously injured. Both were transported with serious injuries, and unfortunately one driver was later pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital. A dog also died in the impact.

Hwy. 199 was closed and traffic was routed around the scene via the old highway past the fire station and Wilderville Store as Hwy. 199.
