Just before 11:00 pm late Sunday night, the Illinois Valley Fire District and American Medical Response responded to a request from Gasquet Fire of Del Norte county CA. for assistance at a traffic accident.
The single vehicle accident happened on Hwy. 199 in CA. While units from Illinois Valley Fire District where helping Gasquet Fire, Rural Metro sent a fire engine to cover the valley.
Three patients were transported, one via American Medical Response to Illinois Valley Airport, then by Mercy Flights helicopter to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center.
The second patient was transported by American Medical Response Ambulance also to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. The third was transported by Del Norte Ambulance to Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City.
Cause of the crash is under investigation by California Highway Patrol.
