Victim Takes Life Flight to Hospital after Crash

Early in the afternoon on Thursday, May 2nd, just before 2:00 pm, the Illinois Valley Fire District and American Medical Response was dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Redwood Hwy. 199 near Wild Park Ln.

The vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree. The driver, (the only occupant), needed the crew from Illinois Valley Fire District to extricate her from the vehicle.

She was transported by American Medical Response to Illinois Valley Fire District station 2 (Selma) and transferred to the Mercy Flights helicopter. Mercy Flights flew the driver in critical condition to Medford.

Illinois Valley Fire District was assisted by American Medical Response, Josephine County Sheriff, and Illinois Valley CERT. The cause of the crash is under investigation by Oregon State Police.
