On Friday evening April 26, just after 6:00pm, the Illinois Valley Fire District was dispatched to a Structure Fire. A Bar-B-Q propane tank malfunctioned causing excess propane to collect. The tank then exploded, setting the house on fire and blowing out a window.
The occupants used several fire extinguishers and a garden hose to extinguish the fire. Upon arrival, the Illinois Valley Fire District with the use of a Thermal Imaging Camera, was able to determine that the fire had not spread into the walls or the crawl space.
