At approximately 2:00 pm Wednesday afternoon CalTrans reported a rock slide had occurred on Hwy 199. The slide happened just over a mile outside of Gasquet near the Patrick Creek area.
The slide closed Hwy. 199 for over 3 hours, reopening at 5:20. The road closer extended from Gasquet to the California / Oregon state line, turning around traffic at those locations.
