An 8.2 magnitude earthquake struck off the Alaskan peninsula at 11:15pm Wednesday evening.
The quake, just 65 miles off the coast of the Alaskan peninsula, was 28 miles deep and was followed minutes later with two aftershocks measuring 6.2 and 5.6 on the Richter Scale. As of 6:00am, Thursday morning the area within a 100 mile radius has received over 30 aftershocks in the past 7 hours.
Tsunami Warnings were immediately issued for the Alaskan peninsula, with a Tsunami Watch issued for Hawaii. No Tsunami warnings were issued for the northwest coast or the Washington or Oregon coastal areas and have since expired.
