On Wednesday morning at approximately 8:00 am, an earthquake struck 173 miles off the coast of the Bandon/Reedsport area on the Blanco Fracture Zone.
Officials said the magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck off the Oregon coast was just 9 miles deep. However, with the temblor being almost 200 miles off the coast, chances are that few if any felt the shake.
According to the United States Geologic Survey, the quake generated no Tsunami and no Tsunami warning was issued.
