Early Monday evening, October 9th, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a man stating he and two women were lost in the woods and needed help just after 7:00pm.
GPS coordinates from the 911 call were acquired by dispatch and provided to the on-duty patrol Sergeant.
The Patrol Sergeant responded to the Coos County Forest just off U.S. Hwy 101, where he located the vehicle belonging to the three lost subjects and traversed the brush, woods, creeks, and thorns, ultimately finding the three lost individuals.
All three subjects were led out of the brush to U.S. Hwy 101, where Troopers from the Oregon State Police assisted by giving the man and two women a ride back to their vehicle.
Although dehydrated and embarrassed, the three mushroom pickers were unharmed.
