At about 1:30pm Tuesday afternoon, January 19th, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a probation search at a residence in Shelter Cove following community complaints regarding cannabis cultivation and increased traffic in the area according to a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department press release.
During the search of the residence, deputies located and seized over 830 pounds of processed cannabis packaged for sale, over 380 pounds of cannabis trim and approximately 558 growing cannabis plants. Additionally, deputies located and seized a sub-machine gun, a sawed-off short barreled shotgun, six high capacity magazines and six additional firearms.
28 year old Samuel Theodore McKee, of Shelter Cove, was cited on charges of unauthorized cultivation, harvesting or processing, possession of cannabis for sales, knowingly renting property for storing a controlled substance, violation of probation, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of short barreled shotgun, possession of an assault weapon and possession of an illegal magazine.
This case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.
