Just before 12:30am, a quake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale struck 6 miles deep and 110 miles WNW off the coast of Port Orford, Oregon early Friday morning.
8 hours later another temblor measuring 5.4 on the scale was recorded at 8:23 am, 6 miles deep and 264 miles west of Newport, Oregon.
No Tsunami warnings were issued for either quake.
