At 5:45pm Friday evening, a 4.6 earthquake struck just under 4 miles north east of Port Orford.
At 8:58pm, a smaller 3.5 quake shook the area just a few miles from the larger earlier quake.
The quakes, almost 10 miles deep and east of Hwy. 101, was felt by many in the surrounding area, and reportedly felt as far south as Gold Beach. The quake triggered no Tsunami warnings or alerts.
