Head Coach Kyla Siri and her Lady Bruin soccer team will take the field today in their first league homegame. The Lady Bruins started league play on the road last Tuesday traveling to Sutherlin to take on the now 0-3 Lady Bulldogs.
After taking the 1-0 road win over Sutherlin, the Lady Bruins then traveled to Winston Thursday afternoon to take on the Douglas Lady Trojans. The scoring tandem of James and Pettus would team up for an Avana Pettus goal from the Hannah James pass just 8 minutes into the game. Without junior keeper Annie Nation, the Lady Bruins defense stepped up, and behind back up keeper Rockette Marrington’s 3 saves, the Lady Bruins recorded their second clean sheet in as many league games.
“We will continue to work on our execution at the goal to finish shots. One shot can make or break a game so we are going to work on capitalizing on those opportunities.” Head coach Kyla Siri said after the game.
After handing the now 2-1 Douglas Lady Trojans their only loss of league play last Thursday, this afternoon, after the 5-0 BHHS varsity boys soccer team play Douglas at 3:00pm, the Lady Bruins will have their league game home opener at 5:00pm at Brookings Harbor High School soccer field.
