Coming this Saturday, September 15, starting at noon, the Brookings Oregon Monarch Advocates will hold the very first Monarch Festival at Azalea Park,
Events and festivities will run until 4:00 pm. Everyone is welcome and everyone gets a free raffle ticket with the opportunity to purchase more for a chance at some terrific prizes!
There will be lots of kids activities and displays to show the Monarch life cycle including a huge model of an egg, a 24 foot caterpillar, a chrysalis and LOTS of live butterflies to be released…provided they all enclose on schedule! There will be larger-than-life cutouts of caterpillars and butterflies for photo ops for the entire family.
Dennis Triglia will be doing presentations to educate everyone about our beautiful Monarch butterflies. Brookings Oregon Monarch Advocates members will be on hand to answer any questions.
Come and celebrate Brookings Oregon becoming the first and only Oregon MONARCH CITY USA, and learn how you can create a way station to help our Monarch butterfly community thrive.
