13.28 inches of Rain Inundates the Region…Break in Forecast

With the Brookings area receiving 13.28 of precipitation in two days, Brookings and the surrounding areas reached their limit Sunday night and Monday morning.

The Chetco River peaked at approximately 1:00 am Monday morning at 22.18 ft. as county services were reporting landslides, flooding, and various traffic hazards.

The Smith River peaked at 31.65 ft., however, both rivers have receded considerably with the break in the rain.

The next couple of days are forecasting a break in precipitation before another front arrives to the area bringing rain before the weekend.
